Summer House, St Fagans Museum, Cardiff
This timber-framed summer house (c.1880) came from Bute Park, i.e. the grounds of Cardiff Castle. It is attributed to one of two designers, either the architect William Burges who masterminded the restoration of the ruined Cardiff Castle and Castell Coch for the extravagant 3rd Marquis of Bute, or to his assistant William Frame who completed the work at Castell Coch after Burges's death in 1881. This leisure feature was moved here in 1987. The path links the nearby lake, below St Fagans Castle, to the fish-rearing pool and boathouse which are situated through the gap in the wall on the left.
