Toll Notice - National History Museum of Wales, St Fagans
This toll notice was once located on the southern approach into Aberystwyth, at Southgate. The tariff is rather complicated and exemptions are available for royalty, military, people on religious business, and those transporting manure. And I thought modern railway fares were complicated!

Kennixton Farmhouse
Started in the early 17th C. this traditional pattern Gower farmhouse was brought from Llangennydd and rebuilt here. The red colouration and the adjacent rowan tree (Sorbus aucuparia) were believed to protect the occupants from evil spirits and witches.
