Kaczuszka Polish Shop, Canton, Cardiff
At 220 Cowbridge Road East on the corner of Glamorgan Street. The cute little yellow duck above the name of the shop is a clue that the Polish word means little duck or duckling. Kaczuszka opened in 2006. The premises were previously Canton Internet Cafe.

Interestingly-patterned building on the corner of Market Street and Cowbridge Road East. The original police station was opened in 1871 in what was at the time the hamlet of Canton. It was demolished in the 1960s. UPDATE The police station was shut down early in 2012 and put on the market as part of the South Wales Police Force's measures to save money.

Canton Library, Cardiff
My first thought on seeing this building was that it's a church. It is Canton library, on the corner of Cowbridge Road East and Library Street, one of 20 libraries run by Cardiff Council. The library is one of two Carnegie libraries in the city. The other one is in Cathays. http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/371072 A Carnegie library is one built with money donated by Scottish-American businessman and philanthropist Andrew Carnegie. More than 2,500 Carnegie libraries were built worldwide, including about 660 in the UK.
