Penderyn Distillery and Visitor Centre
Located in the village of Penderyn, the distillery is the only one in Wales and the first to distil whisky spirit (legally!) in Wales for more than a century. Its best-known product is Penderyn Single Malt Welsh Whisky.

Penderyn Welsh Whisky Distillery Shop at Penderyn
I can well recall when this company relaunched Welsh whisky making, after a break of maybe a century or so (whisky having long been a popular drink in Wales, as it is everywhere). It's great to see that it's been such a resounding success. Recently a Welsh single malt from here was voted 'Best Whisky in the World' at a blind tasting. No bad accolade to brag about. So I went in and tried some. It was amazing. I bought a bottle. The staff were outstanding too - courteous, attentive, thoughtful, unpushy and well informed. Looking for a Christmas gift idea - you need look no further.
