Former GWR bench on platform 2, Cardiff Queen Street station
In October 2019 the bench is a reminder of two former companies. The ornate white letters GWR date the bench to before January 1st 1948, the day the original Great Western Railway ceased to exist when the railways were nationalised. The turquoise colour was the livery of Arriva Trains Wales, the company which formerly managed this station. The railway franchise was taken over by Transport for Wales in October 2018.

Caution - wet floor, Cardiff Queen Street station
The notice faces platform 2 at the top of steps descending to the station subway.
The subway also has lift access. There is no footbridge at Cardiff Queen Street station.

Subway access at Cardiff Queen Street station
There is no footbridge at the station. Access to other platforms is via the subway. This subway access is from platform 2 on the east side of the station. Passengers unable or unwilling to use the steps down to the subway can press a button on the right to contact platform staff for access to the dark green stair lift.
