Adamsdown footbridge - raised
Adamsdown footbridge - known locally as the black bridge - has been raised to allow electrification of the South Wales Main Line. The result is that the deck itself now has a pronounced peak in the centre, with a gentle gradient either side.

Retro-liveried HST in Cardiff
The first production High Speed Train (HST) power car, No. 43002, was repainted into the original blue and yellow livery to mark the 40th anniversary of the HSTs. Here, it brings up the rear of the 09:30 Paddington to Carmarthen service on the approach to Cardiff Central. Celebrity classmate No. 43185, in Intercity livery, was leading:
