Dismantled railway at Pant Tawel
The railway was operated by the Barry Railway Company at the beginning of the 20th Century to transport coal from the Rhymney Valley to Barry Docks. It passed through tunnels at Wenvoe and Garth and over a magnificent viaduct called the Walnut Tree viaduct at Taffs Well. This was demolished in 1969 during the improvements to the A470.
