The Gateway of the Taff Valley
Viewed from the keep of Cardiff Castle, 7 km to the SE. Prominent on the hillside is Castell Coch. In the middle of the view is the Victorian water tower of Whitchurch Hospital, with the high-rise buildings of the Hollybush Estate behind. Located on the north side of Merthyr Road (A4054), in the centre of the village of Tongwynlais.
The Church in Wales church also serves the neighbouring community of Pantmawr.
