SWALEC Stadium
What a vista to make a presentation! Daughter happened to be there today. The player on the left is William Bancroft (1871 - 1959). William John Bancroft was a Welsh international fullback who played club rugby for Swansea and a county cricketer for Glamorgan, becoming their first professional player in 1895. The player on the right is Hugh Morris former Welsh cricketer, who played in three Tests for England in 1991. He played county cricket for Glamorgan, captaining the county, and after several senior roles for the England and Wales Cricket Board he returned to Glamorgan as chief executive and director of cricket in August 2013. He stepped down as a director in October 2018.

Cardiff: applauding a century
Nottinghamshire players and coaching staff out on the balcony celebrating a century by their team mate Jake Libby on the first day of the Glamorgan-Notts County Championship match at the Swalec Stadium (Sophia Gardens). Though Notts were able to enforce the follow-on, the pitch became increasingly bland and the home side were able to block heroically for two days for a draw. Notts 448 (Libby 109, Wessels 120), Glamorgan 187 and 420 for 5 (Ingram 155 not out, Cooke 113 not out.)

At the fall of a wicket
This steel band of drummers, of which there were three others, struck up a rhythmic beat on the fall of each wicket. Obviously orchestrated but the likes of Hutton and May must be turning in their graves at the developments in the game today. Ye gods where are the players in whites nowadays?
