Carlton: St Peter
Other Geograph pictures of this prettily-situated 14th/15th-century church show it in winter, or on an overcast day - so here is one of it on a bright morning in late September. The building has settled over the centuries, so upright walls are in short supply and buttresses numerous.

Parish church. C12 origin, mainly C14-C15 and C19. Fieldstone with clunch dressings repaired in limestone. Slate and tiled roofs. Nave, chancel and south porch. St Peter's church, Carlton
Originally built in C12 but most of the structure dates from C14/15. The west wall (the one bearing the bellcot) was rebuilt in the C19 and the bellcot was added at this time.
