Hatchment of Rev. George Leonard Jenyns (1848)
He was the husband of the lady of Image, so the arms should be the same, apart from the motto. That they are not is blamed on the painter of this one. "Ignavis nunquam" = "Never for the idle", apparently.

Hatchment of Mary Jenyns (1832)
Hatchments were hung on the houses of deceased persons for 6-12 months, then transferred to the parish church. The arms, Jenyns impaling Heberden, are shaded black behind the wife's portion to signify her death. The motto "Resurgam" = "May I rise again" (subjunctive) although it is often translated as the indicative "I shall rise again".

Plaque from Jenyns Free School
After the death of his wife, Sir Roger Jenyns founded a charity school for 20 poor children. The green coat etc. depicted here were the boys' uniform. After the school closed the plaque was hung on the south wall of Holy Trinity Church.

Roger and Elizabeth Jenyns memorial
The interior of Holy Trinity church is dominated by memorials to members of the Jenyns family, the local landed gentry. Here are seen Sir Roger (d. 1740) and his wife Elizabeth, née Soame, d. 1728.
