On the right is the White Swan, painted white and dating back to the 18th century (possibly 17th); the unpainted brick building just beyond it also forms part of the pub.

The village hall, Quy
This was the village school. Quy looks French to me, but the spelling in Domesday Book is 'Coeia'.

Stow cum Quy: Quy Village Hall
The village hall used to be the village school until 1978. The Ordnance Survey map of 1887 certainly shows the building as a school at that time.

Stow cum Quy: The White Swan public house
Both the brick and white rendered buildings form The White Swan. There is no pavement and the road runs right up to the pub entrance. The nearer building on the corner is very narrow front to back and has a wonderful old stain on its gable end where the chimneybreast must run.
