Burwell: The Jubilee Reading Room
The Jubilee Reading Room was opened in 1889 so I guess that the occasion being celebrated was the Golden Jubilee of Queen Victoria's reign in 1887. One of the main purposes was to improve farmers' technical knowledge. It is at 99 The Causeway and is now the office of Burwell Parish Council.

Burwell: the corner of Casburn Lane
The house was originally two flat-fronted cottages, by the look of the bricked-up doorway on the left. The lower part of the wall on the right is clunch, the soft chalky stone once used as a building material in parts of Cambridgeshire.
