According to the plaque on the windlass cover this well, immediately north of Image, "was almost certainly sunk to supply water to the Image opposite when they were built by the Revd Edward Powell in 1845. It is known to have continued in use for at least 100 years until mains water, introduced in 1947, was extended to this part of the village." The south arcade and chancel arch date from around 1400 but along with the rest of the church were reconstructed in 1863 when the north aisle was also added, reusing some of the old material. The east window contains figures by the mid-Victorian glazier Charles Clutterbuck, originally in the chapel of Christ's College in Cambridge but removed here in 1912, and seen in detail in John Salmon's photo Image; Norman Scarfe's Shell Guide of 1983 describes them as dreadful. New hangings with scenes from the ministry of Jesus have brightened this interior since John's visit in 2012 Image Wooden angels from the reset 15th-century roof point to the inscription over the arch which reads "Behold, I bring you good tidings, good tidings of great joy." This church is mainly 15th century.

Nikolaus Pevsner was not excited: "Chancel and N aisle rebuilt 1863, W tower 1894. How far can features of the church be taken to represent mediaeval evidence?" The setting, apart from the village, is picturesque.
