Teversham: All Saints
The tower's stepped battlements are a Suffolk style, Nikolaus Pevsner noted. Some people will not like the electricity pole and cable spoiling the view, but that's how things are.

Tragedy in the Kester family
One of the more poignant gravestones I've seen. Two twins, both killed in action, one only failing to survive the war by a week. On the war memorial (behind the camera) we learn that another Kester (a nephew, probably) gave his life in World War II.

Teversham: All Saints - from the east
"Much EE work, much renewed, plus a W tower," wrote Nikolaus Pevsner. "The windows ... have been so thoroughly restored by St Aubyn in 1888-91 that it is difficult to say what is old and copied and what is new. Later C13 geometrical tracery, especially in the chancel E window (probably not original)."

Teversham: autumn sunlight
All Saints' Church is prettily positioned at the northern end of this fen-edge village. This November morning was sunnier than the weather forecast had suggested.

Teversham: All Saints - interior
"EE S doorway gives a foretaste of one great delight of the interior: nave arcades with capitals [with] stylised flowers and stems in a manner that returned in art nouveau" (Norman Scarfe, Shell Guide). One of those capitals is to the right of the screen. Scarfe also commended the screen and the Victorian chancel roof.

Teversham: All Saints - north side
"Much Early English work, much renewed, plus a [Perpendicular] W tower ... with clasping buttresses and stepped battlements" (Nikolaus Pevsner). The eastern edge of the churchyard was shadowed in the middle of a summer morning.
