Across Ickleton
A long telephoto view from the 100m crest of the road from Elmdon to Ickleton. Valance Farm Cottages are at the bottom of the picture and a red articulated lorry heads north on the M11. The lead-covered spire of Ickleton church shows on the right. The large buildings beyond are at the Genome Centre at Hinxton Hall. Ickleton and the M11 from afar
The lead-cased spire of the church of St Mary Magadalene in Ickleton is about two miles from the top of the hill on the way to Elmdon, from which this soft September zoom shot was taken. The Genome Centre at Hinxton Hall is to the left of and beyond the church and the hills of East Cambridgeshire climb to the horizon. Two lorries are heading south on the M11. Valance Farm Cottages are on the left.
