Church Street, Ickleton
Ickleton is a very attractive village with a church which Pevsner says "has few equals in the country." The spire of St Mary's can be seen behind the house called 'Mowbrays'. Ickleton, village sign
Ickleton was recorded in the Domesday Book as Icelingtune. After the Norman conquest the ownership of land passed to Eustace Count of Boulogne. It was then inherited by other notables such as Geoffrey de Mandeville.

Ickleton is a very attractive village with a church which Pevsner says "As a parish church of the Early Norman decades Ickleton has few equals in the country. It is far too little known. " This is the village green on Church Street. It contains both the village sign and the war memorial.
