Stag Inn, Low Crosby
The villages of Low and High Crosby are now bypassed by the A689. Hadrians Wall National Trail which runs 84 miles from Bowness-on-Solway to Wallsend passes along the road through the village.

Old Milestone by the former A689 in Low Crosby Bridge
Metal plate attached to stone post by the UC road (was A689), in parish of STANWIX RURAL (CARLISLE District), Low Crosby, opposite parish hall, on loop of road now by-passed, on a wide grass verge beside a garden gate, on South side of road. Military Road plate, erected by the Carlisle & Temon (Military Road) turnpike trust in the 19th century.
Inscription reads:-

The Stag Inn, Low Crosby - September 2016 (1)
Not been able to find a building date for this pub, but it was acquired by the "State Management" scheme in April 1917 and not returned to private ownership until circa 1973. The pub is currently closed and believed to be for sale.
