The end of The Plains
... at least for now. Phase two of the small housing development in The Plains off Scotby Road appears to have stalled. Eight large and high-specification houses were built in 2017, but currently at least three of them remain unsold, and the extension of the site is on hold. See also: Image

Converted barn, Scotby
Originally part of Oakbank Farm, this barn is now converted into private housing. The coloured pattern on the wall nearest the camera is a representation of a rainbow, which has become a symbol in support of the National Heath Service and other key workers during the current Covid-19 pandemic.

Scotby Grange
A fairly recent housing development. The Edwardian mansion Scotby House has been extended and converted to flats, and several new houses built in the grounds. In the late 20th century Scotby House was a police divisional HQ. During the first world war, it was a Red Cross hospital - there is a photo of this on Cumbria Image Bank http://cumbriaimagebank.org.uk/ .
