The Deanery and Prior's Tower, Carlisle
A range of buildings based on the Prior's Tower and Hall of the late 15th century. The two storey section this side of the tower is part of the 17th century extension, whilst the low nearer extension is formed from the 15th century stables for the prior. One of the arches carries the initials TG of Prior Thomas Gondibour, prior c1464-1494. Listed Grade I.

Deanery and Prior's Tower, Carlisle
The red sandstone tower with oriel window dates from the late 15th Century and the whole ensemble is Grade-I listed (1208577): https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1208577 .

Cathedral precinct, Carlisle
The building on the right is the fratry http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/6153293 . Originally built in the 12th century and serving the friars of the cathedral priory as their refectory (dining hall), it is currently being redeveloped as a learning and community centre.

Carlisle Cathedral Fratry
The Cathedral Church of the Holy and Undivided Trinity, otherwise known as Carlisle Cathedral, was founded in 1122 as an Augustinian monastery and became a cathedral in 1133. The Fratry (the residential quarters of the monastery) dates from around 1500 http://www.carlislecathedral.org.uk/home Carlisle Cathedral website.

The Fratry, Carlisle
The dining hall of the former priory, now the cathedral library, bookshop and cafe. Built between 1465 and 1490 in Perpendicular style for Prior Gondibour. The roof is a 'restoration' by G E Street in 1880-1. The original roof is likely to have been much less steeply pitched. Listed Grade I.
