Guildhall Chambers, 29 Fisher Street
It says Guildhall Offices on the window, but the address today is Guildhall Chambers.
There is a carved inscription above the door : 'Laborare est orare - A.D. mdccclxxiv' (to work is to pray - 1874).
To the right of the doorway, the name of a former occupant survives from Victorian times - see

Kelly's Directory of Cumberland, 1894 http://specialcollections.le.ac.uk/cdm/ref/collection/p16445coll4/id/8881 has an entry at Guild Hall Offices, Fisher Street, for 'Caledonian Railway (traffic offices), William Mather, district traffic supt.'.
The bit of writing visible on the stone today looks like it might have said 'Goods Manager's Office'.
