The Old Fire Station
The Old Fire Station was prone to flooding and was replaced by the Carlisle East and Carlisle West fire stations. It is now used as an arts and entertainment venue.

Old Fire Station
The building at the corner of Warwick Street and Peter Street was closed by Cumbria Fire & Rescue Service in 2012. Since then it has been converted into a new arts centre.

Oh no, not again
This is Corporation Road, in the Rickergate area of Carlisle. Images remain in our mind of people here being helped out of their bedroom windows into rescue boats, during the previous major flood in January 2005.

The Old Fire Station, flooded
This building was previously inundated during the floods of January 2005, whilst still operational. Fortunately the Fire and Rescue Service now have two new stations further out of town.
The station recently underwent a £1 million conversion into an arts venue, which only opened in May 2015.
