Currock Villa
A house dating from the mid-Victorian era. The Currock Villa Boys Club was established here in the 1950s, later on it became a mixed youth club but closed down around 2008. The property has been sold since this photo was taken - it has planning permission for conversion to a residential children's home.

The case of the disappearing play equipment
In early 2014, Carlisle City Council made the controversial decision to remove all equipment from 21 play areas, because maintenance was too expensive. Instead, money was to be invested in improvements at the more popular parks. This view is at Toronto Park, a small green space in Currock (looking towards the back of a row of garages, behind Blackwell Road).

Currock Methodist Church being converted to flats
The church closed in 2006 - a dwindling congregation had made it unviable. The redevelopment, containing 14 flats, is now called Methodist Court. This part of the building dates from the 1930s. It was an extension to the original church built in 1908, which then became the church hall.
