Currock Methodist Church being converted to flats
The church closed in 2006 - a dwindling congregation had made it unviable. The redevelopment, containing 14 flats, is now called Methodist Court. This part of the building dates from the 1930s. It was an extension to the original church built in 1908, which then became the church hall. For more historical information, see http://www.mywesleyanmethodists.org.uk/page/carlisle_currock_road_wm_chapel_cumberland .

Currock railway footbridge (1) - the inside
This rusty metal bridge was built in 1929. It crosses the Cumbrian Coast railway line, between Currock and Denton Holme. It is seriously scary because you can't see if anybody else is on it as you approach, from either end. The sides are completely enclosed, and too high to see over the top. For other views of the bridge, see Geograph photos http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/1197294 and http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/1197293 . Information update : This bridge was demolished in September 2016, after a much more user-friendly replacement was installed - see Image .

The main hall, Currock Community Centre
The community centre opened in the 1930s - an amenity for the newly developed housing estate in Currock. Presumably this building dates from around that time. The front of the community centre is shown here Image .
