Chapel House on south side of B5288
Ordnance Survey records indicate that in 1969 a benchmark was levelled at 262.413m above Newlyn Datum on the entrance on the east face of the house. This view shows the present porch on the west face. During the 1855/6 Penrith to Workington survey a mark was levelled at 860.400 feet above Liverpool Datum with the surveyor's description: 'Mark on South side of door of Penruddock Methodist Chapel'. This was on a jut on the east face, but it is unknown if the two marks are identical or indeed if the present house is a modernised version of the Wesleyan chapel on the site.
