Keld Chapel, Keld, near Shap
Owned by the National Trust, Keld Chapel is one of their more remote religious sites. Dating from the late 16th century, it has been used as a cottage and meeting house during its long history. It was repaired and restored as a place of worship in the early 20th century. Keld Chapel
The chapel was built in the late 16C. It was used as a dwelling from the late 17C into the 19C, and was repaired and restored as a chapel in 1897. It became the property of the National Trust in 1918.
