Not to be outdone by the display of yellow bikes in the neighbouring village of Melmerby (see Image), the inhabitants of Langwathby have set about the task of adorning their village with at least 25 yellow bikes in anticipation of the Aviva Tour of Britain 2015. Stage 5 of the Tour on September 10th runs from Prudhoe in the Tyne valley to the finish on Hartside Pass. This example, complete with "scarecrow", is sited beside the main road near the centre of the village.
