Main Street, Kirkoswald
The main street drops down a hill towards Raven Beck. The two excellent village pubs are visible here, with the Fetherston Arms to the left and the Crown Inn to the right.

Market Cross in Kirkoswald
A market no longer meets here, but the town gained its market charter in 1200. The market place known as Croft Place is now one of the main parking areas, though manoeuvring can be tight.

Pubs on the main street in Kirkoswald
There are two pub signs, but they were never both open at the same time as pubs. The Black Bull is no longer a pub, but the Fetherston Arms is an excellent replacement, being good for beer, food and friendliness.
