A cleared site towards the Malone Road end of Wellesley Avenue. The following planning permissions seem to apply (both 5 July 2017) “LA04/2016/2511/F  12 No apartment in two blocks with associated works. Block 1 involves change of use from existing building (13 Wellington Park) to provide 6 No apartment, demolition of rear return and replacement with 3 storey extension. Block 2 involves construction of 6 no apartments in 3 1/2 storey block in rear of No 13, with access from Wellesley Avenue. 13 Wellington Park Belfast BT9 6DJ including lands to the rear of 13+ 15 Wellington Park located between No's 16B + 18 Wellesley Avenue and opposite No's 17 19 21 + 23 Wellesley Avenue Belfast” and “LA04/2016/2449/DCA Demolition of existing 3 storey rear return to 13 Wellington Park with partial demolition of 1 storey rear return to 15 Wellington Park. 13 Welington [sic] Park Belfast BT9 6DJ including lands to the rear of 13-15 Wellington Park Located between No's 16b and 18 Wellesley Avenue and opposite No's 17 19 21 and 23 Wellesley Avenue Belfast”. I have no connection with the site.

This looks like a tall chimney pot on the top of a lantern on the roof of “Methody” Image but, I suspect, is really an imitation to supplement the ventilation.

A large house, on the northern side of Wellington Park (Malone Road end). The developer has transformed this former grand townhouse into six elegant apartments.” This photograph appears as a matter of record only. I have no connection with the development and cannot enter into correspondence.

A large Victorian house, which seems to have been built between 1880 and 1890 (possibly originally no 5), subsequently converted to offices and now vacant. Offered for sale or to let and described by the agents as “The subject property comprises a three storey office building directly fronting Wellington Park. The building benefits from private car parking to the front for approximately 4 No. cars. There is potential to extend the building to the rear to create further office accommodation (subject to planning)”. This photograph appears as a matter of record only. Wellesley Avenue runs from the Lisburn Road to the Malone Road. Almost all of the houses are now split into multiple occupation dwellings. This is the view towards the Lisburn Road. See also Image

See Image The school was built in stages between 1865 and 1874. This central part (which includes the main entrance) is part of the earliest work.
