Large Queen's University science block on the Stranmillis Road. It was constructed 1951-57 to a design by Lanchester and Lodge of London. This is a view of the front central portion - acceptable images of the entire building are impossible due to the vast size and close proximity of other properties. See also Image and Image

See Image The Ashby seen from near the corner of Sandhurst Gardens and the Stranmillis Road. The following application for planning permission was advertised this week “0720/F Ashby Building, Stranmillis Road , Belfast New windows, new gas stores, external works including ramp” although I don’t think that it will affect this view of the building.

Cloreen Park, Belfast
At one time I imagine that Cloreen Park, off the Malone Road, would have contained mainly houses. I think that the street was originally named Chlorine Place but underwent a change of name at some point. Now it is a short cul-de-sac and a virtual private road for the Queen's University of Belfast - all of the buildings seen here are part of the university. See also Image The picture is dominated by the towering Ashby building which is accessed via the Stranmillis Road - see also Image
