The view along Bankmore Street towards the Dublin Road. Much of the area was cleared to make way for an inner ring road which was never built. There is still a possibility that the idea might be resurrected. Image shows the street in December 2013 and updates the caption.

Belfast, Bridge House
Good Beer Guide-listed Wetherspoons public house on Bedford Street. Back counter left, with eating and drinking areas front and right; silent TV, games machines. Eight cask ales were on offer at my visit, all from the mainland. The older part of the building was once box manufacturers, dating from 1868; left, on the site of warehouses.

Sewer improvements, Belfast - June 2018(2)
Maryville Street (looking towards Ormeau Avenue) is currently closed to motor traffic to accommodate the works. The 1832/46 map shows that this was the site of a reservoir. The 1846/52 edition describes it as “basin” just to the north of Basin Lane (today’s Bankmore Street).

The "Holiday Inn", Belfast
A 90’s post-bombing campaign building in Ormeau Avenue Image It occupies the site of a linen warehouse which, after closure, housed some Government offices including the motor tax office. It was demolished after being damaged by a bomb. The vacant site was then used as a public car park. Broadcasting House Image is on the left and Centrepoint Image on the right.
