Back of Tesco's near the River Bann, Portadown
Some years ago, the level of the river was lowered and the banks were raised to reduce the extent of flooding on the surrounding land. The reduction in flooding allowed for land to be developed. The Tesco Superstore was built on such land.

Portadown Boat Club on the River Bann
Portadown Boat Club was established in 1877 and through many turbulent years is still a thriving athletic activity on the River Bann. The annual Regatta is a big attraction in the town every summer. See Image
