The Dilemma
While I was admiring the view, this lorry came down with a load of material for the new house being built just below. After several attempts to get round the hairpin bend, the driver had to admit defeat because the fully retracted supports at the rear were catching on the ground. He fetched the men who were working on the building and when I left, they were still discussing what to do. I suppose I should have waited to see how they unloaded the lorry, and how they got it turned round and back out again!

St Gobban's Church, Portbraddan [1]
The privately owned St Gobban's church in Image Only around 8 feet by 4 feet in size, it is thought to be the smallest church in Ireland. The church is owned by the Reverend John McConnell Auld (also known as Con Auld), who, among other endeavours, is a local author and former mayor of North Down. I know that he has carried out weddings within the church. When he is not in residence at Portbraddan the church remains open (weather permitting) and large amounts of money have been raised from visiting tourists and donated to various charities.

St Gobban's Church
This tiny and picturesque church, built in the 1950s, is said to be the smallest in Ireland. Edit: I am outraged to be informed today (6 June 2017) that it has been flattened after being sold in 2015. Thanks to David, who tells me that he got married in St Gobbans, for bearing the bad news. Wedding venue, Portbraddan
There were 150 guests but I'm guessing the only the bridal party got into the tiny church which is the smallest of its kind in Ireland.

Antrim Coast - White Park Bay - West - Portbraddan
Location is north of A2 and just west of Ballintoy. View is to the southwest towards Portbraddan, a tiny hamlet at the base of the first peninsula and an old fishing station where salmon were netted up until 2001. This tiny hamlet also includes Saint Gobban's Church, known as the smallest church in Ireland. It is non-denominational and open for meditation.
