Goalposts and cycle track, Orangefield Park, Belfast
The eastern side of Orangefield Park seen from close to Houston Park. The hockey goalposts seem to be disused. The cycle track/velodrome (background) opened in 1957 and is still in use.

The Knock River, Belfast (10)
The Knock River, looking upstream towards Orangefield Lane, behind Orangefield Park. Flood alleviation work is underway nearby – see Image My understanding is that, although there will be improvements in the park, this part of the river will not be visibly affected by the Connswater Greenway project.

Work underway on the Knock River, a short distance upstream from the new footbridge Image, officially described as “reprofiling of the river in this area to a more natural course will; enhance biodiversity, create new habitats and will provide an ‘educational hub’ for local schools as well as provide flood alleviation for the local residents.”
