Derry - Bogside - Bernadette (Battle of the Bogside) Mural (1996)
Location is along the northwest side of Lecky Road, between Fahan Street & Westland Street. View is to the northwest. Shown in this mural is Bernadette (Devlin) McAliskey, a leading figure in the civil rights movement, addressing crowds on the streets of the Bogside. Eventually, she was given a prison sentence for inciting and participating in a riot. Throughout Northern Ireland, women & children in Catholic areas banged bin lids on the ground to warn of an impending British Army raid.

Location is along the northwest side of Rossville Street across from the Free Derry Corner. View is to the northwest from near the Free Derry Corner. This mural depicts Bernadette (Devlin) McAliskey addressing crowds on the streets of the Bogside in August, 1969. She was sent to prison for inciting a riot and taking part in it.
