Location is along the northwest side of Lecky Road, between Fahan Street & Westland Street. View is to the northwest. Shown in this mural is Bernadette (Devlin) McAliskey, a leading figure in the civil rights movement, addressing crowds on the streets of the Bogside. Eventually, she was given a prison sentence for inciting and participating in a riot. Throughout Northern Ireland, women & children in Catholic areas banged bin lids on the ground to warn of an impending British Army raid.
