Village and road are separated by the incised valley of the Cully Water. The village which is situated off the B30 (Newry/Crossmaglen) Road, has a population of some 160 people.

The Newry to Crossmaglen bus negotiating the sharp bend leading from the bridge at Silverbridge
Ulsterbus runs a two hourly service between Newry and Crossmaglen. The No 42 service which also serves the Mullaghbawn area takes just under an hour to link the two centres. Winding its way through the Ring of Gullion it is one of these islands' most scenic bus routes.

Vivo Store and Donnelly's Bar at the western end of the bridge at Silverbridge
Here, the B30 sweeps through a right angle bend to bridge the Cully Water River. The original Donnelly's Bar was the scene of a gun and bomb attack by the Protestant Ulster Volunteer Force in 1975 which resulted in fatalities.
