Formed in 1998, the Schomberg Society has as it aim the building of "a strong and dynamic Ulster-Scots community within the Kingdom of Mourne and beyond through empowerment and education". The Society is named after Frederick Schomberg, Commander in Chief of the Williamite Army killed at the Battle of the Boyne in 1690

The Schomberg Ulster-Scots Centre at Reivers House, Kilkeel
The Schomberg Ulster Scots Society, named after William of Orange's commander-in-chief, the Duke of Schomberg, who fell in the Battle of the Boyne in 1689, organises an annual Ulster-Scots Festival at Kilkeel. Reivers House stands in Newcastle Street.
