Formed in 1998, the Schomberg Society has as its aim "the building of a strong and dynamic Ulster-Scots community within the Kingdom of Mourne and beyond through empowerment and education". The Society is named after Frederick Schomberg, Commander in Chief of the Williamite Army killed at the Battle of the Boyne in 1690.
