The restored Seaforde Almshouses
These were built by the Forde Estate in the 1820s with two of the units used as the village Courthouse. By the mid-20thC they had become semi-derelict, but were bought by the Housing Association "Hearth" and beautifully restored. http://www.hearth-housing.org.uk/Seaforde.html

The Seaforde Almshouses, Seaforde, Co Down
These were built in 1826 to house poor widows. The OS Memoirs of Ireland (1833-37) state that they "were built in 1828 at the expense of the late Mrs Forde of Seaforde House". They add that 6 widows benefited from the charity at the time of the OS survey.

Newcastle Road, Seaforde, Co Down

Seaforde Bus Shelter
The shelter is situated at the T-junction in the centre of the village. The village is served by the hourly Ulsterbus No 20 Belfast to Newcastle/Kilkeel service. The bus takes just under an hour to reach Belfast.
