No 20 Shaftesbury Square, Belfast (March 2015)
A converted house, possibly built in the late 19th century, recently used a football social club. Now offered for sale and described by the agents as “Prominent commercial premises of c. 1,929 sq ft (179.2 sq m) that are suitable for a number of alternative commercial uses, subject to planning.” This photograph appears as a matter of record only. I have no connection with the club or any of the parties involved in the sale.

Ascot House, Belfast
A mid-1980’s office building with ground-floor shops, at 25-31 Shaftesbury Square, built as “Lesley House” and later renamed “Ascot House”. The ground floor is now being renovated. The agents’ board advertises retail units to let. This photograph appears as a matter of record only. I have no connection with any of the parties involved in the development. Image (18 August 2013) shows the building after removal of the scaffolding and mesh.

Six streets meet in Shaftesbury Square. Traffic used to be controlled by a policeman and later a traffic warden. Now it’s computer-operated lights. Bradbury Place Image is straight ahead.

"Brooklyn Sq", Belfast (April 2017)
See Image “Speranza” (16-19 Shaftesbury Square) opened in 1983 as the bombing campaign was easing from the ferocity of the early Seventies. It was one of the establishments which helped to give Gt Victoria Street, Shaftesbury Square and Botanic Avenue the nickname “Golden Mile”. Subsequently rebuilt from its original form. Recently re-named “Brooklyn Sq”.
