See Image “Speranza” (16-19 Shaftesbury Square) opened in 1983 as the bombing campaign was easing from the ferocity of the early Seventies. It was one of the establishments which helped to give Gt Victoria Street, Shaftesbury Square and Botanic Avenue the nickname “Golden Mile”. Subsequently rebuilt from its original form. Recently re-named “Brooklyn Sq”.
