Retail warehouses at Sprucefield near Lisburn
See Image The retail sprawl at Sprucefield is spread over several squares. It includes Sainsbury’s, Marks and Spencer plus several others. This shows some of the several others at the limit of what is now known as “Greater Belfast”. Subject to planning permission, John Lewis might be joining them. The M1 is in the background.

Gloomy day at Sprucefield (2)
The chilly wind and cloudy skies haven't stopped people buying Christmas gifts early at Sprucefield. The centre opened in 1989 - at that time M&S Home was occupied by Texas Homecare (later Homebase). Now in its twentieth year, this centre is as popular as it has ever been.
