Comber Non-Subscribing Presbyterian Church
This church is unique on the island of Ireland in that for a period of fifty years (1919-1969) it had two successive Welsh Unitarians as its minister - Rev. James Glynne Davies ministered there from 1919-1964; and the Rev. Robert Islwyn Pritchard from 1965-1969. Glynne Davies was a former miner and Islwyn Pritchard the son of a slate quarryman. Islwyn was a first cousin of my mother. The present incumbent is the Rev. I. Gilpin.

Comber's Non-Subscribing Presbyterian Church from the north
Non-Subscribing Presbyterianism is a tolerant and liberal denomination closely akin to Unitarianism. They are called Non-Subscribing because of their refusal to subscribe to the Westminster Confession of 1646, the standard Calvinist statement of faith.
