Skegoneill Avenue, Belfast
Dating from the late 19th century, Skegoneill Avenue is part of a through route from the Antrim Road to the Shore Road, via Glandore Avenue Image This is the Shore Road end. Old Belfast street directories use the spelling “Skegoniel” which can be a bit confusing. Image shows the completed apartments seen (background) under construction at the corner of the Shore Road.

Apartments, Skegoneill, Belfast
A recently-completed block of social apartments at the corner of Skegoneill Avenue and the Shore Road (foreground). The site can be seen at the very early stage of construction in Image (August 2011). The design is on the same lines as another recent one Image although, in this case, the site slopes.

Seaview Presbyterian church, Belfast
A redbrick church, at the corner of the Shore Road and the steep Premier Drive (foreground). The following is a quotation from the Presbyterian Church website: “The church hall was built and opened on 31st October 1936 whilst the church itself was erected later and officially dedicated on 5th October 1940. Slight damage was caused during the blitz in 1941 and new halls and improvements were made during the 1950s”.
