1
Semi-detached houses, Carnan Street, Belfast
These mock Tudor semis are quite out of character with the Shankill in general - and are strikingly similar to the Frazer Homes "Malvern" and "Rossdale" developments at the Four Winds in South Belfast (perhaps not a coincidence).

Riga Street, Belfast
Redeveloped in the 1980s. Looking towards Carnan Street. Riga Street once continued further to become Lower Riga Street - however a residential home now stands in the way.

Tobergill Street, Belfast
Redeveloped in the 1980s - once ran parallel with Riga Street - now it has been made into a crescent linking Carnan Street with Riga Street.

Tennent Street, Belfast
This links the Shankill Road and the Crumlin Road. It has only been partially redeveloped - note the original terrace to the right.

Cosy Fuels, Tennent Street, Belfast
At 114 Tennent Street - now derelict. Belfast 237333 has actually been reassigned to restaurant in Amelia Street - in the city centre.

Eccles Street, Belfast
Links Tennent Street with Orkney Street in the Shankill area. One of the last remaining streets in the Shankill that hasn't been flattened and redeveloped. Note the derelict house to the right - unfortunately it is a build up of houses like this (as well as a decline in living conditions) that sign the death warrant of a traditional street.

Carolina Street, Belfast
Another new creation in the redevelopment of the 1980s. Pernau, Weir and James Street once ran from left to right here.
