North Street, Belfast (November 2015)
The Bridge Street/Waring Street end of North Street looking towards Royal Avenue. The Department for Social Development has now admitted that the grandiose plan for the Royal Exchange is unlikely to proceed in the style initially envisaged. "The department gave careful consideration before terminating the Royal Exchange agreement . . . . . . The minister remains committed to transforming this part of the city, which has been in a state of disrepair for many years. The department will continue to work in partnership with all stakeholders to make sure we deliver the best scheme possible."

North Street, Belfast (November 2017)
North Street, from the Bridge Street/Waring Street end, looking towards Royal Avenue - a scene of utter desolation. Just about everything here is due for demolition. The street’s demise probably started back in the 1970’s when it was outside the security gates and excluded from the main shopping area.
