Wall Painting of Kavanagh's, Smithfield
The painting which is located inside the 'new' Smithfield Market shows the old row on Gresham Street where for 62 years, local legend Joseph Kavanagh traded. With the whole Smithfield area dwarved by the Castle Court development, Kavanagh finally ceased to trade in October 2000 aged 83. His famous motto was: "I buy anything!".

Smithfield Market, Belfast
This is the interior of Smithfield Market (see
Image). Belfast City Council who maintain the concourse and let out the units, in 2009, launched a high profile campaign to lure the public back into what was once a thronging part of the city. This new market never really lived up to the original.
