Woolcot Street
Impossible to resist photographing this terrace on a sunny day; see also Image and Image, both taken further down the street. "Woolcott Street, built in 1861 probably for the workers on the Redland Court and Beaufort Lodge estates, runs south from Lower Redland Road and has a much higher density and narrower plot widths. .... The modest terraced houses; two-storey flat fronted with rendered facades with parapets concealing the pitched roof behind and 6 pane sash windows in Palladian style, the central pane being wider than the two outer panes. The doors have simple projecting door headstones supported on scrolled consoles. In recent times they have been painted a variety of bright colours" from https://www.bristol.gov.uk/documents/20182/33832/cotham-redland-character-appaisal.pdf/5f7556f6-1da3-4743-8d2c-10ca1597b323 .

Another Shakespeare
This Shakespeare pub is the one in Redland - not to be confused with the ones elsewhere in Bristol; there are about four with that name. The inn was originally two buildings: the Shakespeare Tavern and the adjoining Fairbank Cottage before being merged. The pub website records that it may date from 1803, but maps show nothing here until perhaps the 1860s when the area was developed.
