The Royal Oak, Nailsea
This inn is eighteenth century and now a Grade II listed building, with old barns and stables to the left. Famously, it is also the place where Adge Cutler and the Wurzels recorded 'Drink Up Thy Cider' (and many other songs) in 1966.

Landscaping in Glassworks Mews
Nailsea's long history of coal mining and glass-making are recalled in the landscaping of what was a heavy industry site. The glassworks began in the early eighteenth century but closed in 1904 (one company was bought out by a rival, who left their factory to become derelict!). Given the state of the site and the difficulties of redevelopment, it is good to see some effort made to retain a few outlines. The semi-circular seating echoes the swing pits used to make large glass cylinders that formed plate glass.
